Entering Crocodile Territory

The Kimberley is home to the famous Boab tree (Adansonia gregorii). Boab trees can grow up to a circumference of more than 30 m and can become more than 1000 years old.

The trees drop their leaves during the dry season and grow large seeds.

These seeds are edible and are rich in vitamin-C.

Flowers from the Kapok tree. The flower leaves are also edible and used to form a part of the Aboriginal diet (unfortunately many Aboriginals nowadays eat crisps and drink Coca Cola).
