A carriage of the legendary Ghan Railway. The Ghan runs through half the Australian continent and is one of the great train journeys in the world. The line is currently being extended from Alice Springs to Darwin. The people of the Northern Territory have been waiting for over a century for this to happen. | |

4WD-ing takes a heavy toll on cars. Just after leaving Alice Springs we discovered a hole in our main tank and had to return. Keith Maskell (08-8952 0560) did an excellent repair job on our leaking fuel tank, which got us back on the road in 24 hours. | |
